Box Tops for Education

ELP is looking for a Mom to volunteer to be our "Box Top Mom". We would like for this person to sign us up for the Box Top for Education program, and keep up with the Box Tops.

Everyone save your Box Tops for Education and turn them in to ELP! We are anxious to see what rewards will come!

Needed: Old Crayons!

We would love to have any old crayons you would like to donate. Any quality, the paper will be peeled and they will be melted for one of Miss Denise's chapel lessons.

You can drop them off at the office anytime before October 6th.

Welcome to a new year at E.L.P.!!

What is P.V.O.? P.V.O. is E.L.P.'s Parent Volunteer Organization.
It is free, and all parents of ELP are members.

This group is a support group for parents and a support for ELP. Our new PVO coordinators are Krissy Alexander and Liz LoBaugh. They will be coordinating our Room Moms, Activities Coordinators and volunteers for special events. The PVO host Parent Speakers and Parent Coffees throughout the year as well as teacher luncheons for staff meetings. We are excited to have each of you as a part of our ELP family this year and look forward to having you join us in the different opportunities we offer here at school.

Parent Meeting: ELP Parent Orientation Meeting
Tuesday, September 21, 7:00 pm WCPC Sanctuary
This meeting will be about 45 minutes to an hour, we will go over the ELP Parent Handbook and ELP Curriculum.

Volunteer Meeting: Friday, October 1, 9:15 AM
Krissy and Liz, P.V.O. Volunteer Coordinators will host this meeting for Room Moms and Activity Coordinators. They will discuss volunteer opportunities, class room parties and school wide celebrations. Please Come!

Room Mom Information

Thank you Room Moms for helping out this year. We know this is going to be another great year at ELP and your role as liaison between the classroom teachers and the parents is a very important part of that. Below is the Special Events list with the Room Mom responsibilities included.

ELP Special Events 2010-11 Room Mom List


October 26-28: Fall Festival (follow Chapel schedule)

Encourage parents to sign-up to help with the different Fall Festival centers. The sign-up list will be posted at each classroom door prior to the event.


November 16, 17, 19: Big Picnic (11:00 a.m. for morning classes and 12:30 p.m. for afternoon classes) All parents are invited to attend the Big Picnic and help serve the food. Need: 60 frozen fish sticks and 3 loaves of french bread for each class. Owls and Peacocks only need to bring one box of 12-15 frozen fish sticks and one loaf of french bread. ELP will cook the fish sticks and warm the bread.


December 7-9: Nativity Animals (Chapel Time)

Encourage parents to join in the festivities and assist children with the animal rides.


December 14-16: Happy Birthday Jesus Party (follow Chapel schedule)

Need: One birthday cake per class. Encourage parents to sign-up to help with the different centers at the party. The sign-up list will be posted at each classroom door prior to the event.


January 18-20: Snow Days (time TBA)

Encourage parents to join in the festivities and assist with changing child's clothes afterwards.


February 8-11: Valentine's Parties (time TBA)

Valentine's parties are organized individually by each classroom. Please contact the teachers to get their specific needs.


March 1-4: Road Rally (follow Motor Movement schedule)

Need: Each child brings his/her bike/riding toy and helmet.

April 19-21: Spring Fling (follow Chapel schedule)

Encourage parents to sign-up to help with the different centers at the Spring Fling. The sign-up list will be posted at each classroom door prior to the event.


March 12-21: Easter Egg Hunts (time TBA)

Easter Egg Hunts are organized individually by each classroom. Please contact the teachers to get their specific needs.


May 17-19: Water Days (time TBA)

Encourage parents to watch the festivities and assist with changing child's clothes afterwards.


May 17-20: End of the Year Parties (time TBA)

End of the year parties are organized individually by each classroom. Please contact the teachers to get their specific needs.


NOTE: Some activities do not require volunteers (petting zoo, road rally, water days) however,

parents are ALWAYS WELCOME to all of our events!!
